Research

We collaborate with a Nobel Laureate.

Professor Barry Marshall was awarded the Nobel prize 2005 for the discovery of the stomach bacterium Helicobacter pylori. Infection by this bacterium, together with other factors, contributes to an increased risk of stomach cancer development.

The main problem is that it is very difficult to discover stomach cancer at an early stage. Around 80 % of the patients diagnosed suffer from late stage disease. At this stage, there are no good treatment options.

The international research project we support aims to find new ways to discover stomach cancer at an early stage, using a blood test.

By helping us and the research we support, you can contribute to more efficient ways to diagnose and treat stomach cancer.
